The Flight Path Quilt Pattern, designed by Yvonne Fuchs of Quilting Jetgirl, is such a fun pattern to make! [I made 2 last month, a baby quilt and a throw.]

This quilt pattern, which consists of half square triangles and flying geese, is perfect for your favorite prints–especially large scale prints or directional prints that you aren’t sure how to use in other projects.

Yvonne has a video for working with directional prints embedded in her pattern [also available here] and its genius! Because this quilt had such bold prints on the front, I decided to switch up my normal backing [usually a neutral, 108” Carolyn Friedlander grid print] and put this bold, golden yellow Joel Dewberry print on the back. This color is popping up everywhere this fall, so it was my ode to fall color trends!

Instagram Live–Yvonne and I are going to do a joint Instagram Live at this Tuesday, October 2, at  9:15 AM MT/8:15 AM PT, so go to one of our pages to see it!  @patterndrop @quiltingjetgirl

Happy sewing!

P.S. This 15 page pattern, fully illustrated and tested pattern, includes step by step instructions, a coloring page, and some additional color ideas. This quilt has a ton of negative space, so it is the perfect place to practice your quilting–you can quilt the flight path blocks the same or different than the negative space. In the baby quilt I made, I quilted an all over, loopy pattern. For this quilt, I sent it to Abby Latimer to quilt for me

P.P.S. If you are a multi-month subscriber, I sent out the pattern yesterday [September 30–email heading October Pattern Drop Pattern–Download Today]. If you are a monthly subscriber, the pattern will be delivered this afternoon.

How great is this binding? It is from the Tula Pink All Stars Collection [Tent Stripe in Peony].

I have quite a few other versions of this quilt to share, so make sure to check back! Even better, sign up for our newsletter, here.

When you make this quilt pattern, we would love to have you post pictures on Instagram and tag us:
